Introduction to Self

Hello to anyone who stumbled their way here!

I'm an avid reader of all things fanfiction (I've been reading in one fandom or another for 10 years).  I tend to read more than write because I can't write to save my life.  (That fact has been attested to by a friend. And High school, and university, and college, and work.)  However, that does not mean I can't tell what it well written and what is not.  Nor does it mean I can't come up with ideas, plots, and stories.  The problem is just the translation from mind to page.

Enough about my writing woes!

I enjoy a good time travel/alternate dimension story, long plots, and angst.  As an aside, why do I say 'story' and not 'fic'?  I say 'story' as a term of respect.  'Fic' is something you read quickly and while you enjoy it it is not something you'll save to read again (and again and again and again).  'Stories' are something you enjoy, spend the time to read, save, and contemplate on later.  They make you think, they make you want more, they leave you with both questions and answers.  I say 'story', not 'fic' when I truly respect the work the author put into writing and sharing that piece of writing with the internet.

To any authors who are reading this, I want to give you my sincere thanks for taking time to develop, write, edit, and share what you have written.  Especially if you have thrown it up to the internet for the rabid fandoms to read.  I understand and acknowledge the amount of work and time you put into each one, and so I truly thank you from the depth of my heart for sharing what you have laboured on.  Thank you!
